I hate the dog! Sorry, but I do. I resent him every minute of every day. I KNEW better than to get a puppy! I really wanted the Doxie but saw the look on Bayne's face when we saw Murphy so I caved. I HATE having something up my ass twenty-four hours a day, animal or human! He's ruining the carpet. I've limited his water to half a cup every couple of hours but it doesn't seem to help that much. This morning he puked all over after he ate. I really just want to take him back but I'm sure I'll be hated.

Dogs, especially puppies are very hard to care for. Maybe a family in the neighborhood could take him.
I signed a contract saying I'd return him to the shelter if I couldn't take care of him......but I just know that's just going to cause problems with Bayne, ya know?
I guess you are not a pet person. Puppies are not easy, I've had 3 of them. You need to crate train him. In Texas he needs to be drinking water when he needs it, holding back water does nothing except make them more thirsty when you do put the water down. They need to be taken out to potty every 30 minutes as a puppy. Crate training is great at night & teaches them to train their bladder, you will have less issues.
You really need to give him time. I am sorry he is making you so unhappy. I feel bad for him too. Hugs!!

Hey RoseAnn! We have the air on and he's only outside a few minutes at a time. I'll try the every 30 minutes like you suggested. I keep him in a crate at night but it's not really helping. I keep him on a schedule - 7 AM is breakfast, then he goes out 20-30 minutes later and always goes then. He goes out several more times throughout the day. Dinner at 5 PM and outside half an hour later. We go for morning and evening walks. He's ready for bed around 9 but I usually wait and take him out again around 11 then put him in his crate. I don't know what else to do =(
Erin, I just spent the last 15 minutes writing a response and it said to me when I hit the PUBLISH button that there was a problem...OMG, it ate my response...I am so pissed right now :( I will have to take time to re write it all tomorrow and put it in a FB message instead...UGH!!
